[00:00:01] The Rocking Review Podcast hosted by J. Rock Root. [00:00:20] Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of the Rocking Review Podcast. I am your host, J. Rock Roode and today we are in fact having another episode of the podcast both in one week. I know that I had the previous episode with my good friend Lucas McGarry and he was an absolute delight to have on here for that episode. We talked a lot about what we felt towards full gear and Survivor Series and I'm very, very thankful that he was able to spend his time and talk about his love for pro wrestling. That meant a lot and thank you again for coming onto the show. But there was so much that happened between then and today in what we'll cover that I could not help but make an entire another episode and also just be able to do something as I am going into my finals week. So I wanted to try and just double up the load of the wrestling reporting that we have here on the podcast Today. We are going over Monday Night Raw that happened this past Monday. It actually happened. Well, we were recording so I missed the entire part of it. But but when I went back and I watched it over, it was probably one of the best Raws of this year that we have had. There wasn't a lot of wrestling. It was mostly all about storytelling and we will tell about those stories later on today. Also on top of Raw, we also have Multiple reports about 1 CM Punk and more of his influences in AEW regarding one Ryan Nemeth, the brother of the former Dolph Ziggler, now the TNA World Champion Nick Nemeth. And these reports are stemming from a harassment claim that Ryan Nemeth had made during his tenure in AEW when he was contracted with Tony Khan and his promotion. We'll go into all of the facts that we can coming out of that and what does this mean for all parties including aew, Ryan Nemeth and of course the Second City savior known as CM Punk. Speaking of Total Nonstop Action, we will go over the brand new news about the shows that they have booked for 2025 and where they have booked them and trust me, it will surprise you. What does this mean for Total Non Stop Action and why is this happening now? On top of that we will also go over the recent AEW Dynamite and the continuation of the Continental Classic and seeing who will go on to wrestle at World's End at the end of the month and be the winner of the Continental Classic. More on that and everything else going into this episode of the Rocking Review. [00:03:42] So we will start with Monday Night Raw Like I mentioned, I was recording the Monday Night episode when this was going on. I knew all the things that were going into it and I did not know what was going to happen. And trust me, when I left the studio after editing endlessly for that episode that we released Monday night, I was very much surprised on everything that had happened. So let's dive right into it. We opened the show with CM Punk and Everett Washington and Punk of course coming off of his War Games match that he had with the OG bloodline of Roman reigns, the USOs and Sami Zayn. So he comes out and standing in front of another sold out crowd which again they are red hot. They recently just had one of their conferences about Netflix and Raw moving in January and everybody is psyched about that January 6th show that they will have on Netflix at the In Dome in Los Angeles. So everybody is ready for that. He declared that I know exactly where I'm going. I am a lot less beat up today than I was post Hell in a Cell Punk dismissed the lingering doubts about his resolve, emphasizing that he has put personal issues aside with the Royal Rumble elimination chamber on the horizon. He teased his next steps boldly proclaiming that there is multiple roads you can take to get there. But the good news is I got a favor or two in my pocket I can call upon to get where I need to go. Of course that talking about the favor that he made with the wise man Paul Heyman which hopefully when smackdown comes around we will finally figure out what that favor could be or might be. But again we do not know if Paul Heyman is going to continue to be a full on screen character now returning back into the OG bloodline or if the OJ bloodline is going to continue into another match. My guess and it is very far fetched and I know we are less than a week out but even with the matches that have been announced and the matches that were announced on this Raw tonight because now the only one before this Raw was Cody versus Kevin. [00:06:20] I am not opposed and this is going to be released the morning before smackdown. [00:06:31] I would not be opposed if we saw Roman vs solo in a steel cage. That is classic Saturday night's main event. 80s fever have two powerhouses go in a steel cage and finally duke it out one last time. I know you just had War Games but it's now a one on one confrontation between the two quote unquote tribal chiefs even though the original tribal chief is Roman Reigns and everyone knows that. But as Punk was saying this out comes Seth Rollins, I knew that this was. This was going to be a target after War Games because this is going to get Seth under his skin because Punk is proclaiming that he is automatically gonna get these world titles because he has, you know, little things that he can do, like calling favors from Paul Heyman. So Seth, you know, trying to get back to where he was at the beginning of the year and get back to the world title, is very much pissed. [00:07:37] He confronted Punk and he confessed that he should have knocked his ass out the same day he came back to the wwe, him being CM Punk. Rollins detailed his regret over letting opportunities slip due to distractions like title defenses and the bloodline, only for Punk to dismiss him outright by saying that Rollins has been thinking about him for six months. [00:08:03] But Punk has not been thinking about Rollins at all. Rollins then, after a war of words, shoved Punk and he said, come on, am I your business now? And oh, God, the stance, it was so funny. Everyone's been making fun of the stances that they went to, you know, duke it out as they're duking it out. Sami, Zayn and Jey USO came in to break them all apart. And after all of that, Rollins had a lot of frustration. And then Sami was the word of reason, and Rollins accused Zayn of betrayal towards his friendship with Seth for teaming with Punk. The confrontation spiraled into deeper arguments over loyalty and past decisions. Rollins attacked Zane's nativity, calling him stubborn and gullible, while Zayn fired back and said that that monster Roman reigns that Seth accuses Roman being of, you created that monster when you put a chair in his back. 10 years ago. Both men acknowledged their roles in the rise of the tribal chief, but their differing views on trust and alliances fueled animosity. Zayn, fed up with Rollins accusations, challenged him in the ring later that night, saying, you want to get that frustration out of your system, I have no problem doing it tonight. This was really good. This was a good start. And this is going to push more into Rawlings having a program with Punk at WrestleMania. I have a good feeling that Rollins will now go into full heel mode, which is some of the best work for Rollins. And now Rollins is going to cost Punk again his shot at WrestleMania, just as Drew did last year at the Royal Rumble. That is going to set up a semi main event, because Punk will get that main event next year. [00:09:59] I have a very good feeling that I believe Cody will have a main event and Roman will have a main event. [00:10:09] Now the question is there's two things that around this time is going to work. Is Roman and Punk gonna have a match at Mania this year or is it gonna be next year? Does Punk face gunter at WrestleMania this year? And then of course, there's Cody. Who does Cody face this year? [00:10:34] Do we get Cody Rowan? 3. [00:10:39] And the word around is that the final two will be Roman and CM Punk. [00:10:47] CM Punk will get screwed by Rollins. That will set up their matchup Mania. Roman will then face Cody and that will be the third act. [00:11:01] And then the Rock will come out and will set up his match with either Roman or Cody at the next year's Wrestlemania. There is a lot of questions that need answers and I hope that within the next two months at best, we will figure out what will happen. But until then, we have no idea. [00:11:24] Moving on, we got a Finn Balor segment as it was shown that after the match that Damian Priest had with Gunter at Survivor Series, there was a parking lot brawl with Balor and Priest. They come back live from Everett and Finn says that because Dom could not get the job done, Finn had to take issues into his own hands. Now Priest has his arm in a sling and Finn says that Liv should have listened to him or else she wouldn't have lost at war games. [00:11:59] Now Liv has to deal with Iyo sky at Saturday night's main event. So at that part, that was only the second announce match for that primetime spot that they're going to have on the 14th on NBC, Liv says that her and Raquel Rodriguez are going to handle business with damage control. She hopes that Finn knows what he's doing. Whether they listen to Balor. The judgment day wins. Liv tells Dom to keep an eye on Finn. [00:12:29] There have been lots of reports, and we'll go into it as later in the night, that Finn is finally going to be pushed in 2025. I have no idea if that is true. There were several reports years back that they were going to finally do it. The closest that he had to winning the world title, probably a couple different times. [00:12:56] He definitely helped out NXT during the pandemic, I will say that much. But Finn Balor should have had a world title by now. There were multiple feuds that he should have won, including the one with Rollins. As much as they kind of made a problem with that by making Damian Priest Mr. Money in the bank, there was a lot of if Finn was going to get that world title and then when Priest had the Money in the bank contract, they were like, no, it doesn't make any sense. You know, then that's where I would have put as Finn having the contract and that's what he could have had this past year and he could have been in that recent Money in the bank, the one that Drew one which I don't even think anybody even remembers drew winning the Money in the bank because of course that was ruined by but we move on. We have Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez against damage control. We pick up in the middle of this match. Morgan got sky hanged up in a tree of woe. Rodriguez went for the Tijuana bomb, but sky countered with a head scissors takeover. Sky then tagged in her partner Kyrie saying. [00:14:16] Sky then sent Rodriguez soldier first into the ring post and followed up with the missile drop kick. Sane land the insane elbow for a two count. Eosky dumped Morgan out of the ring and executed a suicide dive while Zayn ducked a clothesline from Rodriguez and delivered a combination offense including two spinning back fists. Rodriguez responded with a big boot and connected with a Tijuana bomb to pick up the victory. [00:14:44] After the match, the Judgment Day ganged up on Iyo. Sky, Rhea Ripley entered the fray, engaging in a big brawl with Raquel Rodriguez. Ripley went for Riptide but Raquel landed back on her feet. [00:14:57] Ripley kicked Rodriguez in the face and clotheslined her over the top rope. Ripley then bounced Rodriguez head off the announce table. When Morgan tried to intervene by jumping on Ripley's back, Ripley drove Morgan back first into the ring post. Ripley then retaliated by attacking Rhea from behind and sending her face first in the edge of the announce table to the injured eye. [00:15:20] So they're still continuing with Rhea and Liv. I'm guessing that that will be the match going into Royal Rumble, but that is way too long between now and then, so it's just gonna have to be one of those special Raw or smackdowns. Kind of like what they did last year where it was Raw Day one. My guess is if they do not add it to the Royal Rumble pay per view, it will most likely be for the Netflix debut on January 6th. We cut back to a interview with Kathy Kelly and Gunther. [00:16:01] Finn Balor and Dominic Mysterio come in and Finn argues that he deserves a chattel shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, insisting that Guenther should have shaked his hand at Survivor Series instead of kicking him in the face. Gunther said that he did not owe Finn anything, emphasizing that he needed the victory for himself and by himself, something that Finn took away from him. [00:16:24] He then pointed out why Dominic has been so cocky lately, stating that him and Dom have both beaten Damian Priest, something that Finn Balor has failed to achieve. Feeling confident, Gunther announced that he was going to have a chat with Adam Pearce and invited Dominic to meet him in the ring later that night. [00:16:44] Very good stuff. [00:16:46] And this would set up for a match later on with Gunter and Dom. We'll get into that, but first we have a first round match for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament. Quite similar to how things are being done on SmackDown with the Triple Threats for the US Title, which if I'm correct, I believe the finals will be at Saturday night's main event. In this match we got Shayna Baszler, Dakota Kai and Katana Chance. In the middle of the match, Dakota Kai delivered a leaping foot stomp in the ropes for a near fall. Baszler then perched Kai on the top turnbuckle, but she countered with a headbutt. Baszler transitioned into a corner mount, but Kai blocked with a superplex attempt and kicked Baszler in the face. Katana Chance then capitalized with straight hands and executed a frankensteiner into Baszler for a two count. Chance attempted to pin Kai, but only managed another two count. Kai then reversed an Irish rip from Chance and struck Baszler with a jawbreaker. Baszler then countered a flying hurricarana and hit a running knee lift on Kai for another near fall. Baszler then followed with a knee strike to Chance, but was rolled up by Kai for a two. Dakota then delivered the scorpion kick and went for the gtk but Basler countered into a carefuda. Chance then broke up the submission with a 450 splash, but Kai ultimately connected with the GTK on Chance to secure the victory and she moves on in the tournament. [00:18:24] Very good stuff. People have said that Dakota Kai should deserve the Intercontinental Women's Championship and I kind of do agree with her, but again, like I said, I want Shayna Baszler to win some type of title sometime soon that is not the tag titles. We then got to the talking point of the night. Everybody was so waiting for this because they did not know what was going to happen once this got announced and we had started to, you know, see the fights between the New Day and we got Kofi and Xavier, you know, back and forth against each other. This was a very interesting segment and people were looking forward to this. The new day's 10 year anniversary began as a celebration for their momentum accomplishments as the most decorated tag team in WWE history. [00:19:23] Adam Pearce introduced Xavier woods and Kofi Kingston setting the stage and the crowd chanting New day rocks. [00:19:31] Woods expressed the gratitude by Saying being successful in WWE for 10 years and getting to this point is so much more than we could have ever dreamed when we started this. So I wanted to come out here and say thank you to each and every one of you for cheering us on. Kofi echoed the statement by saying that never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that we would achieve so much accomplishments and accolades and have so much fun doing it. And we couldn't have done it without each other or without all of you. So thank you. And then, of course, because there was a third member of the New Day, the crowd started chanting for Big E. And Wood said that we missed him too. But with all that being said, we wanted to come out here face to face with all of you and let you know that what we were about to tell you, it is not your fault and we have nothing but love for each and every one of you. [00:20:29] And just as it was about to seem that woods and Kingston were gonna finally break up the new Day, all of a sudden, don't want to go big, then say that Blair's over the PA and Big E comes out. And for those that thought that Biggie was not going to show up, I question your common sense. [00:20:57] The crowd erupted as Biggie came out. He was visibly emotional. He grabbed a mic and he said, I can't thank you all enough, sincerely, but I wish I was here under different circumstances because I see the two of you argue and bicker and say some of the most hurtful things you can imagine to each other, man. And it troubled my soul. [00:21:18] Biggie recounted the struggles that they faced together, reminding them of their bond. When we started this 10 years ago, all we had was each other. Kofi, 10 years ago, you were mauling over retirement because you had your passion for this beaten out of you. Woods, 10 years ago, you and I were close to being fired. And in one of the worst days of my life, you were at my hospital bedside for hours making sure I was good. He then emphasized that what we have built means something to a lot of people and it damn sure means a lot to me. And until I am medically cleared to the ring, I'm going to remind the two of you exactly who you are. And I am going to manage you every week. So this was great because this is now pushing that Big E is slowly moving back and toward a in ring return. [00:22:20] And this would have been amazing segment. This would have been a heartfelt segment of the big three, the new day, the OG New day, coming back together. And every week now they're gonna keep on going, and they're gonna, you know, progress and progress and progress. [00:22:39] Kofi and Xavier are somehow maybe even going to get back to the tag title picture. But this took a turn that I don't think anybody expected. Even though everybody knew what was going to happen, nobody expected it to turn out like this. [00:22:58] As woods and Kingston were contemplating over what he had said, woods just goes, now you want to come back? [00:23:11] After you watched us fight for months, now you want to come back? [00:23:19] And with the most resounding statement you could think of, woods and Kingston both say, you left us. E and Big E tried to bicker. He said, I broke my neck. [00:23:32] I've been dealing with surgeries and MRIs and everything like that. [00:23:38] And Kingston just says, yeah, you broke your neck. So what? [00:23:44] That right there is the most heel thing Kofi has said since probably country music sucks. That is not my character. If y'all remember when he did that back in, I believe it was 16 or 15 when they had the original Booty O's gimmick and they came out in Nashville. [00:24:04] That was the most heelish thing Kofi has ever said, ever. That was more heelish than what he said to Xavier last week about him not being worth it and him. Woods not being able to become a world champion. [00:24:25] He said that stone cold Steve Austin broke his neck and he came back. Kurt Angle broke his neck and he came back. Edge even broke his neck and he came back. They included Edge. I believe Edge was trademarked by wwe, and I think this was the main reason why. So everybody that was speculating, why on earth did they trademark Edge? This. This was why. So that way they can, you know, bring him back. Same thing for, like, why people were, you know, wondering why they're still saying Brock Lesnar. Because all in all, they're not really hating on the people. [00:24:58] They just wish things have gone better. [00:25:03] They accused E of prioritizing other parts of his life over their brotherhood. You chose your new project over us. You chose your news girlfriend over us. You chose your new desk job over us. [00:25:21] Woods followed, and he said, do you even realize the burden that you have become? Every single city we go, every fan we meet, they all say the same thing. We miss E. As if we don't miss E. [00:25:37] Big E tried to defend himself, saying that I've been eating with doctors, having Scans, X rays, MRIs, and Woods interrupted, and he said, but I tore my Achilles tendon off the bone, and I was back in nine months for you. Kobe then said, if you really. And truly cared about us. You would have been back a long time ago. You would have been by our side, cheering us on, encouraging us, galvanizing us. But no, you chose yourself over us. [00:26:10] And then woods, who has done the most heel work, you know, starting this tension between him and Kofi at first, and now they're putting it all on Big E. [00:26:25] Wood says, let's stop teasing all these people. Let's tell them the truth. E, you are never going to be medically cleared. And since that's the case, why don't you get the hell out of the ring and get back to your desk where you belong, and we will call you if we need you. [00:26:51] This was very, very heartbreaking for several people. [00:26:59] I don't believe a lot of people expected this to be how it was because the breakup was so insane, nobody could have predicted it. [00:27:14] Everybody was thinking that it was going to be Kingston woods against each other, and that ended up not being the case. [00:27:27] This ended up being very, very heartbreaking. And E is trying to, you know, trying to hold back the tears. And he's heartbroken, and he's saying that, I'm not ready to throw 10 years of my life away for this. And he pleaded and he asked for a hug. And Kingston just puts his hand on E's chest, and he just stops, and he's like. So it's like that it's done. [00:27:58] And as E is exiting and he's going up the ramp, Kingston and Woods turn to each other and they say, now it's just you and me. Kingston said, it's us, bro. [00:28:14] And they shake hands. [00:28:16] So the tension and the anger that has proceeded in the last few months between woods and Kingston, they bonded. They shared that loathing. [00:28:33] As you know, some of the wicked theater fandom people would say, they shared that loathing, and they put it all on the one guy that has barely, you know, he's been off of tv, he's been doing the pre shows, and he hasn't came back in the last two years. Everybody is saying that he is was never going to come back, and he's probably going to face early retirement, but he is now trying to clearly get back into the ring. And this will set up the Royal Rumble perfectly. And we will get a legacy part two, because we're going to get Kingston, woods, and E in a triple threat. [00:29:21] This is the biggest triple threat since the Shield triple threat at Battleground 2016. This will be a very entertaining program. [00:29:34] And this is exactly what I was talking about weeks ago when I said, I don't know how a heel turn would work with Kingston on a singles run or was in a singles run. And this just proves prove the point of they needed each other so they stuck with each other. But now they kicked Biggie out of essentially the New Day. [00:29:56] After that shocking segment, we got to Gunther versus Dominic Mysterio. This was by far one of Dominic Mysterio's best matches that he's had in a long, long time. We'll pick up after a Snapmare takeover by Gunter. Gunther then cranked on Mysterio's neck as Mysterio begged for mercy. [00:30:20] Despite his position, Mysterio displayed his fighting spirit. Gunther punished him with a thunderous slap to the chest and applied a Boston Crab. Mysterio then managed to grab the bottom rope, forcing a break. [00:30:34] Gunther toyed with Mysterio continuing to assert his dominance. The two then exchanged chops with Mysterio answering back with some forearms. Gunther eventually applied the sleeper hold, looking to wear Mysterio down. In a desperate move, Mysterio delivered a sneaky low blow behind the ref's back. Taking advantage, Mysterio would then connect a619 to Gunther's ribs and then drop kicked him to the middle rope, landing another 619 and then proceeded with a fog splash. [00:31:06] Despite this, Gunter only kicked out at two. Mysterio then attempted the Three Amigos, but Gunther blocked it and fired another brutal chop to the chest. He followed up with a massive boot before connecting with the power bomb for the 1, 2, 3. I do want to mention that in this during a chop exchange and this is kind of weird to see, but Mysterio bloodied up Gunter's chest, which I don't know anybody else that has probably done that other than Drew Sheamus and the biggest one being Damian Priest, because the last couple fights, including SummerSlam and the recent one that he had at Survivor Series, they really went at it and Priest did not hold back with any chop or any strike that he had over Guenther. [00:32:00] Post match. [00:32:02] Immediately as Gunther was celebrating Finn, Balor ambushed Gunther with a sling blade and blast him with a shotgun dropkick. Mysterio in the corner seated, Balor looked at him and said, watch and learn kid. [00:32:20] And then proceeded to land three kute gras to the world champion. [00:32:26] He then dumped the world title across Gunter's back, leaving him battered and sending a clear message again. [00:32:36] This is definitely proving that Finn is going to be a big thing going forward and hopefully I'm not saying that he is the one to dethrone Gunther, but man, he would definitely be an awesome champion, especially heading into 2025 and the amount of matches that he could end up having. Biggest one I'm thinking of and one that would absolutely slap is that Braun dropping that Intercontinental title and Finn resorting back to his Prince era that he had in the Pandemic in the last bits of black and gold NXT and we Getting Finn Balor vs Bron Breakker which I don't think has happened yet, I don't believe. [00:33:30] Kathy Kelly had a backstage interview with Bron Breakker when Ludwig Kaiser interrupted. Ludwig expressed how he felt that he had accomplished his goal of putting an end to the Celtic Warrior, calling it a rib for a rib. It was earlier released that after the match that Seamus actually suffered a cracked rib due to the Shell alien shots that Ludwig had given him at Survivor Series in the Triple Threat. [00:34:03] He confidently stated that there is nothing that will stop him from bringing the Intercontinental Championship back to Imperium. So definitely a one on one match between Kaiser and Breaker. Looking towards the future, he responded by saying that he would love nothing more than defend his title against Ludwig while giving Ludwig his due credit. Ron suggested that perhaps Ludwig should consider stepping out of Gunter's shadow, noting his stock is seeming to fall again, showing that Ludwig is defending really Gunter's honor instead of his own. And Ludwig still he's going great on promos, he's great in the ring and there is definitely something that will come up. Personally I would have him be a United States Champion instead of a Intercontinental champion, but that's just my my little advice. [00:35:08] Next week on Raw we have Rhea Ripley against Raquel Rodriguez. We also have a eight man tag happening with the Wyatt Six facing off against the final Testament and the Miz. The Women's IC title tournament will also move on with its second match in the first round with Lyra Valkyria taking on Selena Vega and Ivy Nile out of commercial. It was then revealed that somebody had attacked Jey USO before Sammy's match. Sammy had said that he knows who did it or he says he thinks he knows who did it and he's gonna kick his ass in the ring right now. [00:35:55] Adam Pearce then tells Finn Balor that he will get his shot against Gunter at Saturday night's main event. So currently right now the three matches that will be going on at Saturday night's main event are Cody versus Kevin Iyo, sky versus Liv and then Gunter versus. [00:36:20] So we have three championship matches on that primetime spot and that will be awesome to see because now that NBC poll that they are about to get is going to be a very huge one. [00:36:47] Going to the main event, we had Seth Rollins versus Sami Zayn. [00:36:55] Midway through, Rollins whip Zane across the ring, but Zane springboarded off the ropes, sidestepping Rollins and sending him into the turnbuckles. Zane transitioned into a corner mount and delivered a flying elbow smash. But Rollins quickly countered with a toe kick in midair. [00:37:13] Zayn blocked the pedigree and hit a blue thunderbomb, only getting a two count. Rollins then drove his elbow into Zayn's midsection and followed up with a step up in Saguri. Zayn responded with an exploder suplex into the turnbuckles. Zayn then attempted the helluva kick, but Rollins countered it with another super kick. Zayn avoided the curb stomp and took a moment to regroup outside. Zayn then slapped Rollins across the face, prompting Rollins to retaliate by driving Zayn's rib into the steel steps. [00:37:42] Rollins then sent Zayn face first into the steel ring post before launching him into the timekeepers area. Zane then kicked Rollins in the face and drove his opponent's face into the ring post. [00:37:55] Zane, out of tension, he went back to the outside and grabbed a steel chair from the timekeepers area and he risked almost getting disqualified. But Rounds looked at him, he said no, no, you don't want to do this. And Zayn was like, I know it was you, I know you attacked Jay. [00:38:14] And Rollins said that he had nothing to do with the situation. And then he pondered to Zayn he said, what about your buddy CM Punk? Do you think he did it? He should never be trusted. [00:38:27] Zayn, who was clearly conflicted, he tossed the chair back out of the ring. When he went back to Rollins, Rollins sneaked up with an inside cradle and picked up the sneaky victory. And the 1, 2, 3 and at the end they just looked at each other and they just sat in the ring and Rollins said that he loved him but he needed to start using his head. And when Zayn is looking towards the entrance way and Rollins going up and Zayn is conflicted wondering who attacked Jay, all of a sudden from behind him, a tall man in a black hoodie and jeans kicks him in the face. And it was one Scottish warrior. [00:39:02] Drew McIntyre returns and is revealed as Jey Uso's attacker continuing their past feud. [00:39:13] A very, very eventful raw and I am super intrigued going into Saturday night's main event. Next Saturday my hope is that even over break I will try and continue episodes to happen. It will be in a different recording style and I am not sure how it will go but I will try my best and I definitely want to go over both Worlds End and Saturday night's main event. [00:39:46] Moving on. [00:39:48] Ryan Nemeth, the brother of the formerly known Dolph Ziggler, AKA the current TNA World champion Nick Nemeth. [00:40:00] He was reported to file complaints to AEW and about CM Punk and harassment that he faced during his tenure with aew. [00:40:16] This came out earlier, I believe it was the next day, Tuesday, and I'm looking at this, I'm going, what the heck is this meaning? Like I see harassment, I'm going, that is a very nasty term to start throwing around, especially with a talent who is unrecognizable like Ryan Nemeth. But it's then reported that the fallout from CM Punk's controversial time in AEW has continued with reports involving Ryan Nemeth. [00:40:48] In September 2023, Nemeth reported and filed a formal complaint to AEW executives accusing Punk of abuse, harassment and threats that he claims were ignored by the company. [00:41:05] The complaint allegedly including a timeline detailing Nemeth's interaction with Punk and AEW's failure to address his concerns. [00:41:16] Nemeth reported that he had reached out to AEW's legal department in April of 2023, fearing that punk would target him. I have no idea why Punk would target him. Punk at this point was still away following brawl out that had happened August of 2022. So I have no idea where Mr. Nemeth would think that Punk would target him when he wasn't even on the show. [00:41:52] But my guess is that Tony Khan had basically told everybody, hey, we're thinking about having Punk coming back. And that eventually led to the announcement of Collision and Punk coming back later that June. [00:42:09] Nemeth also claimed that Punk threatened him during a locker room encounter in June of 2023. So basically that was the same time that he had returned back from his suspension. Well, some AEW talent, including Tony Schiavone and the Young Bucks, reportedly offered support and assured him that his career would not be affected. Nemeth felt ostracized, especially being left off of shows for almost two months. He also feared that his contract would not be renewed as punishment for speaking out. [00:42:46] So basically he was fearing for his contract, or as Tony Conrad put it, fearing for his life. [00:42:54] According to reports, the situation escalated in August when Nemeth was allegedly removed from an AW show at Punk's request. My assumption is that the AW show was Collision. He also said to have been instructed to cut a promo antagonizing Punk who was at that time AEW's world champion. [00:43:20] Despite reaching out to AEW legal and HR departments for help, Nemeth reportedly felt no action was taken. He further claimed that the departure of AEW legal representative Megha Bakara left him dealing with new contacts who didn't address his concerns effectively. [00:43:45] After Punk self occasional Jack Perry at AEW all in, Nemeth reportedly sought advice from AEW's outside counsel, but no resolution was reached leaving him feeling sidelined. By November of 2023, Nemeth had worked his final matches for AEW with his contract set to expire in March of 2024. [00:44:08] He allegedly believed AEW held him responsible for Punk's departure and according to reports, AEW offered a settlement that included approximately three years worth of Nemeth salary contingent on signing a non disclosure Agreements NDA. Goodness gracious. The amount of times I've heard Tony Khan and the word NDA moved around has been absolutely ridiculous. He has signed NDAs with everybody. One of the earliest predicaments that he had to do was during Kylie Rae's time with Chris Jericho. And hence this is the reason why since then Chris Jericho has not been looked at the same. [00:44:51] Before then Chris Jericho was okay. People were like okay, we liked the inner circle, we like the Jericho Appreciation Society. Everybody did. [00:45:05] But since then Jericho has been booed off television. So then they created a character where he's completely nonchalant and he's the learning tree. Like that has gotten over and you know what, it's annoyingly over and it has gotten go away heat. [00:45:22] Nemeth reportedly rejected the offer with his legal team claiming that it was no longer on the table. [00:45:30] Nemeth also reported and claimed that AEW's current legal representative Chris Peck threatened him with a lawsuit after he submitted his timeline of events. He further stated that AEW's response to his situation had been inadequate and that the other talent had raised similar concerns, but those voices were still unheard. Despite the turmoil, Nemeth expressed gratitude for his colleagues and emphasized that they deserve a safer work environment and AEW has not publicly commented on the matter and updates are expected as more details emerge. [00:46:11] It seems like every single week that AEW thinks they are straight up in the clear. It goes completely self and at some point I'm hoping Tony Khan just learns from this and he learns how to actually run a business. He does not learn and he continues to further ignore the please and the help that his talent has been telling him ever since. And this is Even before Punk. [00:46:47] One of the funniest lines that is now probably being quoted, I would say this is during the Pandemic, Taz, as all of a W did, we're trying to poke fun at WWE most likely for its Covid regulations. And Taz said that they do not run a sloppy shop. [00:47:15] And now nearly four years later, you see that that statement has really flip sides. [00:47:25] Now AEW has been accused of all this. [00:47:30] The ratings have been going down ever since. [00:47:34] Nobody is watching Rampage or Collision to the point where Rampage is going to get canceled. [00:47:41] And there has been rumors that because FOX have bailed on WWE that now Tony Khan is going to look towards Fox and having the next Rampage Slash Collision, even though nobody even watches those shows anymore. [00:47:59] Speaking on Ryan Nemeth's Brother and the promotion that Nick Nemeth works for total nonstop action, TNA Wrestling announced on the 4th of December that they will be coming to two major cities going into 2025. [00:48:22] And they released on their Twitter as well as tna wrestling.com that more than 1 million votes were cast to decide and destination for the next upcoming events. Basically saying that, you know, where would TNA most likely, where would all the TNA fans like to have another event at? And it was revealed that two biggest winners were New York City and Los Angeles. So TNA has made a compromise and there will be two major events being held in 2025. The first one coming for Sunday, April 27th will be the Rebellion Pay Per View and this will be held in the Gallon center on the campus of the University of Southern California. [00:49:19] The Gallon center is home to the USC Trojans basketball and volleyball teams and has played host to concerts, pageants, theatrical performance and more. The annual Kids Choice Awards presented by Nickelodeon have originated from the Gallant center numerous times and they will host the first big show that they will be having in 2025. [00:49:48] So that's really big news and that is a really big center. I mean I'm not saying that AEW what hasn't done that, but considering that TNA has been running the smaller venues and they have been selling out constantly and it feels like there is a more energy presence in those arenas, this is a really good option to take. But the biggest, this is the biggest one and I'm excited. I hope I go to this one. [00:50:21] The I would say this is the second biggest event for TNA Wrestling. [00:50:28] It was revealed that Slammiversary will be held July 20th at the UBS arena in Belmont Park. [00:50:43] UBS arena of course is home to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. [00:50:55] This, this place is huge. I'm not saying that they're gonna sell it out, but there is a very good chance that they will do way better than AEW has for some of these arenas. [00:51:14] I be on excited to defend the TNA World Championship from coast to coast in the two of the most iconic cities in the world, Los Angeles and New York City, said TNA World Champ Nick Nemeth. This is groundbreaking for TNA Wrestling and he cannot wait to ride the ride that TNA will be on in 2025. This is really, really good. And the reasoning is because TNA is finding itself into a really good position. They have amazing stars, one of their biggest ones being, of course Nick Nemeth. They also have Joe Hendry, which by the way, for people wondering he might make these events, I don't know if he will. Personally, I think he will stay with tna. He is not WWE ready. He will make an appearance at the Royal Rumble. He's already spoiled it. But Joe Hendry is not WWE ready and TNA should resign him. [00:52:20] And speaking of which, it was revealed and I don't have the precise information in front of me, but another TNA favorite will be officially a free agent starting in February of 2025 and that is Josh Alexander. Josh Alexander has been a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, a former X Division Champion, a former Tag team champion. [00:52:59] This is a really, really good time for somebody to pick up Josh Alexander. [00:53:06] And the only one that is the right answer currently right now is wpe. WWE currently has Ethan Page, who was Josh Alexander's tag partner in TNA when they created the north, and now with Page in wwe. This would be the perfect opportunity to cash in on that chance of having both Page and Alexander together on NXT and proceeding to have a dominant run. And you know, they're trying to look for who's going to dethrone Faxium, who is going through another tag team tension right now, which is Nathan Frazier and Axiom, who is going to take away the NXT World Tag Team Championships from then. And I think that there's nobody better then Ethan Page and Josh Alexander to take those titles off. I don't see any other tag team currently right now that would be able to take them off. [00:54:08] And finally we'll end off with talking about AEW D. [00:54:18] And we started off the show with Shelton Benjamin taking on Kyle Fletcher in a Continental Classic Blue League match. We'll pick up a little bit into this. [00:54:31] Fletcher started strong with a running boot in the corner, attempting to follow up a brain Buster. However, Benjamin countered landing a corkscrew kick. Benjamin then transitioned into an Indian death lock variation and the crowd began chanting for Fletcher to tap out. But Fletcher showed resilience, managing to reach the ropes and break the hold. [00:54:54] Benjamin then managed control but Fletcher fought back, landing a super kick that sent Benjamin reeling. Fletcher then headed to the top rope, hitting a big elbow for a near fall. Fletcher charged at Benjamin in the corner but was met with a well timed thrust kick followed by a German suplex. Benjamin covered for another two count. The crowd was eager as Benjamin then hit a running step up knee in the corner sending Fletcher to the apron. Despite being on the ropes, Fletcher found a way to rally and in a surprise turn, all of a sudden, Fletcher rolled Benjamin up out of nowhere and he actually used the ropes for leverage to secure the pin fall victory. I do know that there were several other things in this match that happened. This was an absolute great, great match for Fletcher and Benjamin. Two styles that are very much quite similar. And Fletcher sold the hell for Benjamin. But this was so insane to me because two things. [00:56:02] Number one, Fletcher cheated when the rules are also stated that you can't really cheat. I don't know anybody that has cheated in these matches. They've either lost clean or won clean. There is no other in between. So this is like one of the first times I've ever seen somebody when it comes to the Continental Classic lose in this fashion. And then on top of that, they had Don Callis on the outside doing commentary. Isn't the rules that there is no interference from outside? [00:56:38] So why is the manager even out there? [00:56:42] You never saw that last year with Jay Lethal in there and you didn't see Sanjay Dutt and the big, the big dude. [00:56:54] You didn't see them coming out, Jeff Jarrett and all them. It was just Jay Lethal. So why on earth is Kyle Fletcher doing this? And you know the biggest answer. And now it's absolutely true. [00:57:09] Now seeing how far Okada is that Fletcher is going to win the Blue League and we're going to get a rematch at world's end between Fletcher and Ospreay. And then, oh God, we got the return of one of the worst promo people in all of a W. Just worse than Mercedes Monet. We got Hook. [00:57:32] Goodness gracious. This guy cannot cut a promo without sounding like a damn caveman. I'm sorry, nobody has taught this guy how to cut promos correctly. [00:57:45] Hook. He came out and addressed a challenge that Christian Cage gave last week saying that Nick Wayne wants to fight him at the Hammerstein Ballroom either at the Collision taping or the Dynamite taping that's going to happen when Ring of Honor goes there at the 20th for final battle. [00:58:09] Hook says, wayne, I heard what you said this past weekend. [00:58:16] So you want to fight me in a couple weeks in New York City? This is all verbatim, by the way. This is exactly the exact same tone that Hook had during this promo. Well, I got a better idea. I'd rather fight your father, Hammerstein Ballroom and leave him in worse condition than my father left in by you guys. I'm like, bro, why are you saying? He then says, and for you, Nick, how about you come and fight me right here, right now? [00:58:46] So then this got the patriarchy to start coming out, and Hook tried to fight them off, but it took a turn when Mama Wayne comes out now, goodness gracious. I'm just glad that she's just an on screen character and she does not cut promos. [00:59:04] She comes out. They overpower Hook. [00:59:07] Christian then directed Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne to bring out chairs. And then as they held him down, Nick Wayne then proceeded to concerto Hook's hand in the process. [00:59:20] So most likely we will be getting Hook in a cast. Goodness gracious. First it was the eye with the fireball. The fireball to Hook's eye. [00:59:33] And we saw at all in. [00:59:37] Now it's his hand. [00:59:39] God, can they ever give this kid something else? And they say that this is the guy that WWE has looked at as potential. [00:59:49] I don't even know where he was. Probably was the. Probably the last ones on the list. [00:59:58] Actually, if I'm correct, I think he was 27, was hooked under 30. [01:00:04] Goodness gracious. This kid has got to learn. [01:00:08] Moving on, we got the Donut Diamond Dozen Battle Royal. [01:00:15] God, the fact that they have still talked about this even after they made the story that Damien Garcia pawned off the actual one that MJF has had for so long, all of a sudden he has just a backup. [01:00:29] I will get everybody that was in this match. I'll just pick up. During the Battle Royal, Brian Cage and Lance Archer teamed up to send Top Flight to the apron. [01:00:40] But they return to the ring with a series of superkicks. Leo Russian Accent Andretti managed to eliminate Top Flight. [01:00:50] Mark Davis cartwheeled out of an Irish whip and connected with a clothesline to Kyle O'Reilly, followed up by a pile driver to the Butcher. [01:01:00] Brian Cage and hit a ripcord elbow when Archer landed a big boot. [01:01:06] The double clothesline sent Davis over the top rope, eliminating him from the match. Rocky Romero is then sent flying with a big boot from action Andretti. But O'Reilly retaliates, booting Andretti to the floor cage. And Archer attempted a chokeslam powerbomb combo, but Rocky Romero made the save before being powerbombed himself out of the ring. Cole then delivered an insiguri to the Butcher, sending him out to the floor. And then there was a superkick du cage which sent him out. And then O'Reilly sent a baseball slide for Lance Archer, leading him to crash to the floor. And the only two left were the former bandmates, Adam and Cole and O'Reilly. And they will face next week at Winter Is Coming. And the winner will go on to face MJF at World's End. [01:01:59] I do not know why they did this, man. I don't know why they continue to carry on with this meaningless thing going on with mjf. MJF has just lost everything after that. [01:02:16] We got a squirrel squash match because he ended up squashing Max Caster. [01:02:23] Max Caster has been continuing this gimmick of he is the best wrestler alive. And that meant that Bowens and Billy Gunn did not go out with him and basically Swerve just like squashed him. There's no rumors about him going back and facing Lashley. That probably will happen at World's End anyway. [01:02:45] But he just, you know, couple of house calls to Caster and then hit some swerve stomps and that was pretty much it. [01:02:59] Then we got an MJF promo, another taped MJF promo while he is out doing God knows what. [01:03:08] He has completely lost meaning of everything and he is deciding not to show up. And he will just show up at pay per views, get the paycheck and go to the pay window. [01:03:20] MJF addressed Adam Cole, reflecting on their once successful partnership. He recalled how they were both at the top with MJF holding the world title and Cole by his side. But things changed when Cole turned on him, basically fearing MJF would betray him. First. [01:03:40] MJF pointed out the disastrous consequences that Cole had and his actions, specifically how it led to Roderick Strong's injury and pretty much the chaos within AEW and the reign of Jon Moxley. He blames it all on Cole. Because MJF was out, MJF could not come back and save. He then taunts Cole, calling him the villain, and predicts that Cole won't even be able to beat Kyle Riley, which will be proven in their upcoming match. MJF ends with a chilling statement implying that Cole's fate is sealed and he can thank him later. [01:04:20] I mean, some of the people will say this is great storytelling because they're gonna end it where they started it last year at World's End. But the difference is both of them were so injured, they barely made time for it in the first half of the year. For the first half of the year, both MJF and Adam Cole were injured. MJF came back in May at double or Nothing and confronted Adam Cole, but then proceeded to have a program with Will Ospreay because that is what the people wanted because Will was their biggest draw and they wanted to get MJF back to the status that he was before he got injured and then Cole said he came back and since then, absolutely nothing other than having the worst spray tan of all time. Most likely we will get Cole vs. MJF at World's End in Florida. We then shifted to a match between Pac and J. White. [01:05:17] Midway through, both roll to the outside for a chop exchange before quickly returning to the ring. Pat counter with a high angle urinary with a rebound German suplex, but both men were down. After a brutal exchange, Pac managed to get to his feet and avoided White's charge with a boot and then attempted for a shooting star press, only for White to move and Pac to land on his feet. Pac then delivered a spinning back kick combo. When White responded with a sleeper supex, White looked for the Blade Runner, but Pac countered into a brutalizer submission. White began to bleed from the mouth as Pac locked on the hole in the center of the ring. White struggled, eventually making to the ropes, but Pac held on to the four count, forcing the ref to pull him off. During the scuffle with the ref and Pac, Wheeler Utah interfered, pulling White to the outside of the ring, delivering a busy knee. [01:06:18] Pac slowly got White back to the ring, hitting a Blade Runner to secure the win, so stole his own move after getting knocked out with a Busako knee and Pac pins Jay White. [01:06:34] After the match, Yuta was hit with a Blade Runner by White, but Marina Shafir entered the ring and stared down White, which gave Jon Moxley the chance to blast him from behind with a paradigm shift. [01:06:49] Suddenly, Hangman Adam Page appeared at the top of the ramp. [01:06:54] Moxley managed to make his way up and they locked eyes, but out of nowhere, a spooky sneaky cameraman attacked Moxley from behind and began choking him with a camera cord and it was then revealed to be Orange Cassidy. So Orange Cassidy comes back after having bleached all over his face. Somehow. No wounds other than a small little bandaid above his eye. Marina Shafir was tossed into the front row and Cassidy followed by dropping everybody with the orange punch including Moxley Jay White then hit a Blade Runner on Moxley from behind and Hangman Adam Page as he was pulling himself up against the ropes delivered a buckshot lariat. Good thing is is White, Cassidy and Paige are not in the Continental Classic. So because of these three men we are most likely getting a fatal four way between John Moxley, Jay White, Orange Cassidy and Hangman Adam Page. [01:07:59] So this answers my question. Now it doesn't hurt Paige because he just lost to White because now he gets to face White again in the ring and now it's for the world title. Cassidy will get his rematch. [01:08:12] White after having his two successful pay per view wins over Hangman will have his shot at the world title as well. Your co main event was Penelope Ford taking on Anna J. Earlier in the night, Mercedes was challenged by Anna J for a shot at the TBS Championship. Mercedes said that she would be watching. During the middle of the match, Penelope Ford fought out of a hole and hit a diving stunner out of nowhere. She climbed to the top for a moonsault but missed. Anna Jay responded with a shotgun dropkick but Ford fought out of Jay's no Shigami attempt. [01:08:58] Ford hit a drop toe hold setting J up on the middle rope, followed by a running drop kick to the back for a two count. Ford then locked in the muda lock but Jay fought her way to the bottom rope for then got in the face of referee Aubrey Edwards. Her and Rick Knox are absolutely the worst. [01:09:18] This distraction allowed Jay to pull forward throat first over the middle rope and hit the no Shigami for the pin. [01:09:29] Anna J then grabbed the mic and called out Mercedes, saying that she knew Mercedes was watching and demands that she comes out now. Mercedes then comes out and she says let me get one thing straight. If Kris Statlander, the biggest and the strongest women on the AEW roster, couldn't beat me for this, then what makes you think you can? She continued by saying that people may call me arrogant, but Mariah must have dropped you a little too hard in the head. Ana, I actually like your confidence, so if you want a shot at the TBS championship, then maybe you should come back in 10 years when you've actually done something in this business, kiddo. [01:10:15] Jay responded with a weak slap to Mercedes and Mercedes checked her watch after Anna left the ring and said only on my time. [01:10:28] This was not a really, really good segment. I mean the two did give a really decent match Especially with what I said earlier with the Monday episode, I basically was like, there is no real hype in the women's division. So I don't really know who again, Mercedes, because that's the biggest thing. I don't think about, oh, the feuds or anything. I just think about, okay, who is going to be the one to take the title off of Mercedes and then what does Mercedes do after that? [01:11:12] I'll tell you what, you either do one of two things. [01:11:17] Most likely after she loses this TBS championship, she's gonna go for the world title. She's gonna have very lengthy world title reign. Once she loses that world title, she's gone. [01:11:31] She will not be seen at all on AEW television after she has lost that title. It is one done and she is leaving with her pockets full. [01:11:44] In your main event, we got Brody King versus Claudio Castagnoli in the Continental Classic Gold League matchup. [01:11:56] We'll pick up towards the end here, Claudio attempted a springboard European uppercut, but Brody countered with an elbow, scoring a long two count. Claudio then dropped Brody wrist first over the top rope and both men positioned themselves on the top turnbuckle. Brody hit a superplex, followed by a piledriver for a two count. Claudio ducked a lariat and rolled to the outside, leading Brody to chase him, spilling the fight to the ringside area. Brody set Claudio up on a chair at ringside and attempted a cross body block, but Claudio moved and Brody crashed into the steel. Claudio followed up with a European uppercut, sending Brody into the front row. Brody barely made it back into the ring by the ten count. Claudio charged for Illyriot, but Brody responded with one of his own. A near fall occurred when Brody couldn't secure the win. But when Brody went for the gonzo bomb, Claudio resorted to eyebreaking and delivered a low blow behind the ref's back. Another cheaty, cheaty win to win the match. [01:13:12] And he did, he did pretty something pretty cool. He low blowed him with his leg and then he cartwheeled back over to set up for the neutralizer for the 1, 2, 3, and Claudio is your winner. I was definitely not expecting a win via cheating for the Continental Classic. I think that this is the first instances of somebody not winning clean in a Continental Classic match. So, you know, it really makes you question on, you know, what are they really gonna do with this Continental Classic? How different is going to be from last year's original inaugural tournament? But I guess that this is how it is going to be. So with that win, I actually Will turn towards the board for the Gold and Blue League to see who is in the league currently in the Gold League. Claudio Castagnoli leads with six points, scoring pinfall victories over Ricochet and Brody King. [01:14:33] Tied for second is Will Ospreay with his win against Commander. So I did not mention that. So Monday I said Juice Robinson was reported injured and that is correct. He suffered a broken foot. [01:14:51] So the match that he had with Juice Robinson, Will Ospreay has now been taken place for Commander, another luchador that TK loves to use. So Will Ospreys victory. It says Commander, but it was really towards Juice Robinson. But Juice Robinson will take the goose egg. Also with three points, Brody King, he beat Darby Allen last week and now he faced the loss to Claudio. So he remains at three. The only people with a zero is Darby Allen, of course, with his loss against Brody King, Ricochet, of course his loss against Audio, and the only one that has technically not lost but still has zero because of the loss fees by Juice Robinson. Is Commander moving to the Blue League. We had Fletcher and Shelton Benjamin happened. Fletcher currently leads with six points by scoring pinfall victories over the Beast Mortos and Shelton Benjamin. [01:15:59] In second place though is Shelton Benjamin. He scored a victory over Mark Briscoe, but he does have a loss against Kyle Fletcher. And of course so does Beast Mortos. So Mortos has zero. [01:16:14] Mark Briscoe also has zero. And then this. Oh, gosh, this was ridiculous. I can't believe that this was even possible. [01:16:24] Apparently on collision, Kazuchiko Okada, the Continental champion, had a draw with the TNT champion, Daniel Garcia. How in the world do you put a draw? And the only reason I can say this is because they didn't want to hurt each other. They did not want to hurt the other person's momentum because they know Okada is the Continental champion going forward. But they also know that Daniel Garcia is the TNT champion. So both of them, one of them being the quote unquote feel of aew, the soul bearer of AEW being Daniel Garcia, they didn't want to hurt his push. They didn't want to hurt Okada because he's supposed to be the leader in this, because he's the champion. [01:17:21] So I don't know why they did this. I thought it was ridiculous that they decided to do a tie. But they still have four matches each that they have to compete against. [01:17:35] So nobody is really eliminated currently after, you know, their, you know, first matches or so. [01:17:45] But so far it looks like it's Claudio and Kyle Fletcher who are in the league. Most likely it will change over time. So the next upcoming Continental Classic matches will be taking place for Rampage. It's probably already been filmed already. It's been taped. But the next match is Mark Briscoe vs. Kazuchiko Okada, Daniel Garcia and the Beast, Mortos and Ricochet and Commander. [01:18:24] And then for Collision there will be Kyle Fletcher versus Kazuchi Okada, Darby Allen versus Commander and Daniel Garcia versus Mark Briscoe. [01:18:39] So those are the end matches that will be happening for the Continental Classic. And that is the end of this episode of the Rockin Review. I want to thank you so much for listening. Again, reminders that we are on both Instagram and X Twitter. On Instagram we are the Rocking review that's R A W K I n G review. On X Twitter we are the Rock Sports pod that is R A W K sports pod. And that is it for this episode of the Rocking reviewed. And remember it's spelled R A W K because we talk about the W's in wrestling. Thanks so much everybody.
